Hi, I’m Blaz! 👋
I started my web development journey with WordPress, building custom plugins, themes, and complete websites from scratch. As my experience grew, I moved on to developing more advanced plugins that integrated with external APIs and tackled complex problems for various clients.
I later switched my focus into e-commerce and started working extensively with PrestaShop 1.6 and 1.7. Working with Prestashop gave me deep insight into e-commerce platforms—from catalog management and performance optimization to designing seamless checkout flows and third-party integrations.
In 2020, I joined a Danish web agency where I specialized in frontend development. Most of my time there was spent building webshops in Magento 2, although I also handled occasional WordPress projects. I gained good experience working with Hyvä Theme and ScandiPWA, the latter of which introduced me to React and gave me my first hands-on experience with modern component-based frontend development.
As my focus gradually shifted toward React and Next.js, I decided to sell my WordPress plugin, Rate My Post, which I built back in 2018. Rate my Post grew to over 20,000 active installs and received hundreds of five-star reviews. Nevertheless, it felt like the right time to hand it over to someone who could continue improving it, while I moved fully into the modern JavaScript ecosystem.
Today, I work in-house for a larger Danish e-commerce company as a Frontend Developer, focusing on Next.js, React, and TypeScript.
This website is where I share what I learn, document side projects, and occasionally reflect on my web development journey. I’m also an avid hiker (check nailthetrail.com) and I maintain a book portal called truewartales.com
